SYLVIA ROBINSON STORY

ABOUT

Developed by Warner Bros Studios and TriStar Pictures, and co-produced by Robert Kraft with legendary film producers Paula Wagner and Stephanie Allain, the film tells the enthralling life story of Sylvia Robinson — founder of hip-hop’s first label, Sugar Hill Records. Sylvia, commonly referred to as “the mother of hip-hop”, produced the very first hip-hop record, “Rapper’s Delight”.  The film, written by Cheo Hodari Coker (Marvel’s Luke Cage) and Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip) tells the tale of the race to produce the first rap record.
